1981 "One Day You'll Go" This Young Adult novel is the story of Kathy, who works at the fruit stand on her family's apple orchard. 1978 "Growing Up Guilty" Pantheon. This penetrating Young Adult novel is set on the eve of World War II and recounts the romance of a young girl with a family dedicated to socialism, with a heroic, fighting mother like Emma Goldman. Young Adult books with such political orientation are rare and important.

1978 "Like Mother, Like Me", Pantheon/Bantam paperback. (CBS Film with Linda Lavin and Kristy McNichol). Jennifer's fathe is handsome, irresponsible, and not very bright. When Jen is 15, he takes off for Denmark with a students, leaving his wife and daughter to fend for themselves. Breezy, witty, sharp dialogue and a plot that deals with love, sex, and women's liberation.

Films

1992. Dr. Schwartz wrote and produced a 30 minute video entitled THE CHILDREN OF IZIEU. Filmed in France and the US, this film recounts the terrible raid on an orphanage on April 6,1944, in which forty-three little Jewish children were deported to Auschwitz and gassed. This video has won a number of video awards, has been shown in many European countries, and is in the Orphanage at Izieu, which has been preserved as a memorial to the martyred children.
